This is a double-sided acrylic adhesive that bonds well with coarse canvas fabrics like Sunbrella^®, Sattler^®, Top Notch^® or Top Gun^®. Basting prior to sewing prevents feeding problems and provides more accurate, even hems and water-resistant seams. Basting tapes are left permanently in place and are invisible (they won’t yellow like other rubber-based adhesives). If any needle gumming occurs while sewing, intermittently clean the needle with an alcohol swab or an adhesive remover. 

Use a tool to press basted seams and hems for a stronger hold. The Sailrite^® Canvas Patterning Ruler features a rounded metal end designed specifically for this purpose.

3/8" width SewReady™ Seamstick is ideal for 1/2" hems, the standard hem width, to minimize any exposed tape after hemming.
