This is a thick, heavy weight, plastic shackle used to secure a slug or slide to a sail. This sail shackle features a screw design closure that permits easy detachment and re-attachment (screw is included with the shackle). This shackle is quick to install and does not require a grommet for installation.

Plastic or nylon shackles do not need a plastic insert to protect the sail.
